Mr & Mrs Bornor, Dartford
We had not had anything as big as an extension built before and so we were quite apprehensive about choosing the right builder to work with us. Honeycomb were recommended to us and I spoke with a number of previous customers who all gave good references. I met Paul and Dave and found them easy to talk to. They had lots of questions on their first visit and suggested lots of ideas for how they could undertake the work. The quote was very detailed and gave me confidence that my requirements were taken seriously. I accepted the quote price - which was in the middle of the quotes I received.
The work went well from the start. The guys are friendly and very hard working. They are considerate and polite. They even kept an eye on my dog to make sure she did not get out while doors were open etc. It was clear from the start that Paul and Dave take customer service very seriously. They listened to my thoughts and on numerous occasions made great suggestions to improve the build so that the finished space was far better than we had imagined or planned. They seem to be excellent at lateral thinking. Neil the plumber was a great help in designing the bathrooms and all the others involved, plasterers, electricians and scaffolders were all helpful polite and above all listened. Paul dealt with Building Control so well that I was not even troubled by that side of the process.
When the job was complete we got a better result than we could hope for at the fixed price we agreed at the beginning - there were no hidden extras. We are so delighted, we can wholeheartedly recommend Honeycomb Construction to anyone, in fact you'd be mad not to use them! We will definitely be recommending them and using their services next time we want to do something.
Well done fellas!

We recently had a single storey extension added to the rear of our house. The builders were always friendly, punctual, busy and never wasted any time. The extension has been completed to a high standard and we are very pleased with the results. We Would highly recommend them and would certainly use them again.

Honeycomb Construction carried out extensive alterations to our house, including redesigning the kitchen and constructing a new cloakroom. They were a pleasant, hardworking group of craftsmen, who consulted us at each stage of the work. The results were exactly as we wanted.
Mr Mallet, Maidstone
The whole process was a pleasure. The quote, advice and work all carried out very professionally. I had been organising the various trades myself but Paul took over the whole project and found excellent tradesmen. He will be doing all our building work from now on!
Ms Sheppard, Orpington
We are really pleased that we chose Honeycomb to build our extension. With an 8 month baby we were very apprehensive about our building work starting, but Paul, David and their team were really considerate, they even got to know baby’s nap times and worked around them. The Honeycomb team were always happy to take the time to explain things to us so we understood what stage the build was at and what was happening next. When we had to make decisions, the options were clearly laid out as were the cost implications so there were no nasty surprises in our final bill. The same was true of their subcontractors who were all very friendly and helpful.
We are really pleased with the end product, the extra space is fantastic and a number of our friends have commented on how good the finish is. We will certainly be having Honeycomb back in future.

Mr Bayross, Hildenborough
I have used Honeycomb Construction for two jobs, renewing a FlatRoof earlier in the year and most recently, rebuilding 10 metres of our Garden Wall which was in danger of collapse. On both occasions quality work was delivered and the 'site' was left clean and tidy. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.
Mr Stead, Tonbridge
We used Honeycomb Construction to carry out a small but reasonably complex adaptation of internal room from single large utility room to bedroom, bathroom and small utility room and fitting of additional exterior door to kitchen, with necessary modifications to heating system. Having submitted a competitive and comprehensive quotation, Paul and David and their subcontractors carried out all the work required cheerfully and efficiently. They made constructive suggestions as to the easiest ways to achieve our objectives and incorporated all our requirements and changes of plans throughout the construction period cheerfully and with good humour. The patience shown during the construction of the bathroom, which due to specialised fittings for disabled use, and delays in supply of same, was outstanding. The final result was exactly what we required and the cost was as expected and contained no surprises. I would use this company again and would have no hesitation in recommending them to anybody else.
Mr Herbert, Borough Green
We are very pleased with the work done by Honeycomb, and would recommend them without reservation. The job was a first storey extension, complete with a jettied overhang of 30 inches. A vaulted ceiling added to the structural complexity. We weren’t initially sure that a relatively small firm such as Honeycomb would be able to deal with the build, but we were very happy with their competent and confident approach. Our architect’s structural engineer was involved, and Paul translated his ideas into the actual build, negotiating with him as necessary so that Building Control were happy at every stage of the work. By suggesting simplified structural requirements, he saved us quite a lot of money. In the end he made it seem easy. Paul listened to what we wanted, and always gave us the options available when design choices came up. We ended up with exactly the building we wanted, which doesn’t always happen. He also was patient with our “must have” but unusual requirements, such as the frameless glass balcony, which took me ages to source and get past Building Control, but, again, we got what we wanted. He saved us money several times by coming up with solutions we hadn’t thought of – in particular the drains for which the architect’s ideas were sound, but expensive and disruptive. Paul came up with an elegant and much cheaper solution. All the team were pleasant to have around, and good company, important if you are going to have people in your house for many weeks. The sub-contracted tradesmen (brickies, plumbers, electricians, plasterers) were highly skilled local contractors who really know their stuff. Neil the plumber managed to get all the supplies, wastes and toilet cisterns for two bathrooms into the six inch dividing wall between them. Wayne the plasterer we’d used before, so we knew his work would be top-notch, and it was. Ollie sorted out all sorts of problems in the electrics that pre-existed this build, as well as giving us what we needed in the new installation, explaining options as necessary. I found the contract well explained and fair. We feel that we got a lot of building for the money, and were very pleased with the value. Considering the atrocious weather the work was done as quickly as one could expect. I’d certainly use Honeycomb again.

Mr & Mrs Sheppard, Otford
We thoroughly recommend Honeycomb Construction. We had bought a 1950s bungalow and wanted to add a new 1st floor. The bungalow had been unloved for over 30 years and needed a complete make over, replacing electrics, boiler, heating system, windows, kitchen, bathrooms etc etc. Starting work in mid January 2010 and finishing in July they have delivered a superb end result and we could not be more happy. STRENGTHS We found Paul and Dave through Which? Local and were impressed with the 2 properties/owners we visited to review their work. They are a small operation with 4 full time staff and call in good quality specialists as and when appropriate. This keeps their overheads down, helping place them in the middle bracket of quotes we received and we felt that the job was within their scope. Paul listens well (not a noted skill for a builder) and adds value with good ideas and discussion, while Dave is a perfectionist and produced some lovely finishing touches. We had some additional costs and some cost savings, and due to increased specification came in over budget. Paul always outlined the cost implications of any additional work and his thorough specification enabled me to identify cost savings as we went along. This then formed part of normal commercial negotiations, which were always settled fairly and amicably. Are Honeycomb Construction perfect ? No, obviously not. Did everything run wonderfully smoothly thru the whole 6 months of our build. Again, no it didn't. But Paul and Dave were always on call, to resolve issues and deal with any problems, resolving them all to produce an excellent end result. OVERALL To summarise, we are very happy with the wonderful result that Paul & Dave have delivered and would recommend them to anyone on both a quality and value basis. Our daughter has now selected them, after competitive tendering, for a single storey extension to her property. Ask them to give you a quote. Provide all the builders with a clear spec to quote against. Look at similar work done by the shorlisted builders and make sure that the builder you pick is capable of doing your job. Good luck, Chris and Marilyn.

Dug new soakaway, laid patio and installed new window and guttering. All work carried out to time and agreed costs. Standard of workmanship excellent, always ensuring that everything was carried out to my requirements and complete satisfaction. I would defintely choose this company again for any further building works.
Mr Daykin, Plaxtol
Honeycomb built a large oak framed double garage and workshop with a reclaimed tile pitched roof. They were pleasant, clean, tidy and extremely efficient throughout and the finished product is something to be proud of. I am 100% happy to recommend them without reservation. In my experience of many years of using builders for a variety of work I consider Honeycomb to be by far the best that I have used.

We had an upstairs extension built. The builders were always punctual and busy, never wasting a moment but always willing to discuss what was being done. Nothing was too much trouble and the end result is brilliant, just what we wanted. Costs were kept down as much as possible with no loss of quality. Truly a first class service. We would certainly use them again and don't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.

Following a tender process involving several local and regional companies Honeycomb construction were engaged to add a second floor to our oak framed garage (actually required stripping the existing building back to the oak frame and, essentially, starting again). Paul and the guys (four from Honeycomb plus additional specialist sub-contractors as needed) were all pleasant, friendly and professional. Their work ethic is unusually good for British builders (several times working until gone 6pm to make sure they stayed on schedule) and the quality of the work (every aspect) excellent. There was only one problem (difference between 'treated' and 'tanalised' oak cladding) but this was handled professionally and satisfactorily. In summary, I would thoroughly recommend Honeycomb to anyone requiring a top quality general builder who offers a fair price and takes pride in the finished product .

I've had quite alot of experience in hiring builders and it is not always easy to find a competent, efficient and reliable builder. So I was very happy when I contracted Paul to gut and re-build my bathroom because that was what he proved to be. In particular he exhibited four rare qualities - he was on time, he always left the building site tidy at the end of the day, he was always pleasant to deal with and he gave me after sales service when a problem rose after he had been paid and left the job. But I must add - all this doesn't come cheap. His quote wasn't overpriced however - considering the pleasure it was to work with him it was good value for money! And I have a beautiful bathroom to prove it!
